Over the last 10 years, more people than ever before found out about Dubrovnik, a city that became one of the most visited Game of Thrones locations. The more popular the show became, the more fame its filming sites gained as well, and Croatia is one of those countries that became more popular thanks to Game of Thrones.
And maybe no other GOT filming site gained as much popularity as Dubrovnik. The beautifully preserved medieval city located on the Eastern shores of the Adriatic Sea, is certainly quite impressive! But ever since being chosen as one of the locations where Game of Thrones was being filmed, Dubrovnik became more than just a historical medieval city. It became part of the pop culture.
The first time I visited Dubrovnik, I was blown away by how imposing and beautiful this city looked. Walking on its narrow streets, I couldn’t help but imagine how life might have been there hundreds of years ago. Dubrovnik has this power of taking you back in time, and I loved that about it!
